Pro Tip #1  |  Choose In-Person Testing

Did you know you can schedule your licensing exam in person OR from home? While both options are available, opting for an in-person exam gives you a powerful advantage!

How it Works: Before you start your exam, use your scrap paper to quickly jot down essential formulas, principles, & acronyms. This proactive step helps you keep key information top-of-mind and reduces mental fatigue during the test.

This trick allows you to test with open notes during your exam! Cram that must know information and/or any concepts you are struggling with before heading into your exam and quickly jot it before you start testing!

Included in our programs, you will see what we call the “Scrap Paper Trick.”  This option is only available for in-person testing! We provide you with the best concepts and must know information to write down on your scrap paper!

Pro Tip #2 | Avoid the Trap of Seemingly Correct Answers

One of the most common pitfalls in multiple-choice exams is being misled by answer choices that look right—but aren’t. To avoid this, it’s essential to fully read and understand what you are being asked BEFORE looking at the answer options.

The exam is intentionally designed with distractors—answers that seem plausible but are incorrect. Even a single word in the question can completely change what’s being asked.

PRO TIP: Cover up the answer choices until you’ve read the question carefully and clearly understand what it’s asking. Reading the  answer choices too soon can influence your thinking and steer you toward the wrong choice if you're not fully confident in what is being asked.

Slow down, stay focused, and think critically—your accuracy will improve when you prioritize understanding over speed.

Pro Tip # 3 | Strategy for Tackling Questions

Step 1: Clarify what you are being asked. Questions can be loaded with extra details or “fluff.”  Strip away the unnecessary context to identify the key concept of what the question is targeting.

Step 2: Determine what you DO know. The exam is entirely multiple choice, use that to your advantage. Narrowing down from 4 to 2 choices boosts your odds!

Step 3:  Look out for opposite choices—Often times, you can eliminate 50% of the answer choices by recognizing opposite answer choices. Your correct answer will be one of the two!

Tricky Questions & Negative Wording

Some of the most confusing questions are those written in the negative. These questions can trip you up before you even look at the answer choices. It is crucial to slow down and break down what’s actually being asked.

🧠 PRO TIP: Flip the question / Reverse the ask when you see questions like:

Which of the following is NOT true or Which is NOT correct?

💡TURN "What is not true?" into "What is False?"
Remember | 3 choices will be true, you're looking for the 1  that’s false
